Accessibility statement
ShieldBook is built for people who work in the field, in the office and at home. This website should work for all of them.
Our goal
We aim for the website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Pages use real headings, landmarks and lists, with a link to skip to the main content.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. Menus, the lifecycle explorers and the roadmap filter are built from native controls and work without JavaScript.
- Text and controls meet AA color contrast, including inside the product pictures.
- Pages reflow from 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling.
- Animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
- The demo form labels every field, explains errors next to the field they belong to, and moves focus to the result.
How we check
Before each release, every page is tested automatically against WCAG 2.2 AA with axe, checked for sideways scrolling at five widths from 320 pixels, and loaded with reduced motion. Keyboard operation is checked by hand.
Known limitations
- Product views on the website are pictures of ShieldBook's screens, made with invented demo data. They're hidden from screen readers, and the text beside each one describes what it shows.
- When the demo form's spam check is switched on, it is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, a third-party service that most visitors never see. We don't control its accessibility.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on the website is hard to use, we want to know. Reply to any email from us, or use the demo request form and describe the problem and the page. We'll respond and work on a fix.
