How this website handles your information
This notice covers the ShieldBook website. It explains what the site collects, why, who handles it for us, and the choices you have.
It does not cover the ShieldBook software itself. Businesses that use ShieldBook will receive their own agreement and privacy terms for the data they keep in it.
Who we are
"ShieldBook", "we" and "us" mean the company that operates this website and builds the ShieldBook software. You can reach us as described under "Contact us" below.
What we collect
When you request a demo
The form sends us what you enter: your name, business email, phone number if you give it, company, primary trade, company size, how many people work in the field, the software you use today, what you want to improve, and your message. We also record which page the request came from and when it arrived.
When you visit
Like every website, ours receives technical information with each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that linked to it, and the time. Our hosting provider keeps this in standard server logs. The demo form also briefly counts requests from each IP address, in memory, to slow down automated submissions.
What we don't collect
The website uses no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or session-recording tools, and sets no cookies of its own.
How we use it
- To reply to your request, arrange and hold a demo, and talk with you about ShieldBook.
- To keep the website and the demo form secure and free of spam.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or add you to marketing email without your permission.
Who handles it for us
We use a small number of service providers, who process information on our behalf and only to provide their service:
- Vercel hosts the website and keeps its server logs.
- Resend delivers your demo request to us as an email.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, when the spam check is switched on, processes technical information about your browser and device to confirm that a person sent the form.
- Our email service holds the request and our replies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this notice would continue to apply.
How long we keep it
We keep demo requests and our correspondence while we're in contact with you about ShieldBook and for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or the law requires us to keep them longer. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own policies.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. We'll answer within a reasonable time, and we won't treat you differently for asking. Residents of some US states, including California, have specific rights to know, correct and delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing; we don't sell or share it, and we honor the other requests for everyone. We may need to confirm your identity, usually by replying from the email address you gave us.
Security
The website is served only over encrypted connections, the demo form checks every submission before it reaches us, and access to requests is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that information will never be exposed, but we work to protect it.
Children
The website is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Where your information is processed
We and our service providers process information in the United States.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll tell you before it applies to you.
Contact us
To ask a question or make a request, reply to any email from us about your demo request, or send a request through the demo request form and say that it's about privacy.
